Terribly beautiful. Volcanic eruption began in Kamchatka
Shiveluch volcano erupts in Kamchatka. Fascinating footage of the volcanic eruption and lava appeared on the network.
The three-kilometer Shiveluch volcano, according to geologists, has existed for about 60-70 thousand years. Shiveluch is one of the largest volcanoes in Kamchatka. It consists of three main structures: the Old Shiveluch volcano, the ancient caldera and the active Young Shiveluch volcano.
The Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences warned that it is dangerous to approach the volcano at a distance of up to 15 km. Ash emission can be 20 km in diameter and reach the highway Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - Ust-Kamchatsk, Izvestia specifies. The village of Ust-Kamchatsk (3.5 thousand inhabitants) is located almost 90 kilometers from the volcano. And twice as close to it is the village of Klyuchi.
If part of the ash rises high into the mesosphere (60–80 kilometers), it forms silvery mesosphere clouds glowing in the night sky. Everything else crumbles to the ground, ash falls. Some people may develop allergies, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
