End of the working day. Veterinarian Andy Mathis from Georgia, USA, packs his bags and plans to go home. He's about to close Granite Hills Animal Care when he hears the phone ring. There is a woman on the other end of the line. Worried, she reports that she picked up the dog and the dog is allegedly in terrible condition. Mathis asks the woman to bring the animal to the clinic so he can examine it.

About half an hour later, the same woman appears with a gray pit bull. After examination, Andy makes a verdict: the dog is exhausted, anemic and hypothermic. Moreover, the animal suffers from genital prolapse. The pit bull's condition was so dire that the veterinarian was faced with a difficult choice: he could try to save the dog, but he was afraid that treatment might not help and the dog would suffer even more. There was a second option - to euthanize the animal, saving it from unnecessary suffering.

Faced with such a difficult choice, the veterinarian did what perhaps any modern person could do: “I asked the Universe... also known as Facebook,” says Andy, “and the Universe said: try it!” Andy said that the "Universe" even gave the dog a name - Gracie Claire.

The doctor managed to save the dog. Intensive treatment lasted three days. The dog had to undergo several operations and complex procedures. The animal was under almost 24-hour supervision in a veterinary hospital. Gracie's condition gradually improved, but one big problem remained - the dog was still wary of people and did not want to eat at all. After everything he had experienced, the dog needed food and energy to begin to recover.

When all attempts to feed Gracie failed, Andy Mathis found an ingenious solution to the situation. He climbed into the dog’s enclosure and began to have breakfast with her to show that he could be trusted and that he and the dog were on equal terms. The word “miracle” just begs to be included in this text - after “assessing” the situation and looking at the person who was eating next to her, the dog gave up! Andy posts stories of all his patients on the clinic's Facebook page. The video where he has breakfast with his dog was no exception. The veterinarian could not even imagine that his action would receive such approval and become a real hit on the Internet.

The video went viral and people began to offer help and donate funds for Gracie's treatment. Now the dog is recovering, and Andy continues to post photos of his popular patient and says that Gracie is getting better and better every day.
