The dog and his sweet attitude towards the baby, who was brought from the maternity hospital (7 photos)
Astro is a family dog who loves his owner Corey Jordan and his wonderful fiancée Elsa more than anything in the world. Ever since a man adopted a pet into the family, it always strives to crawl into the bed of its owners in order to fall asleep between them.
But recently the order in the house has completely changed, and Astro, in turn, too...
This week, Corey and Elsa celebrate the birth of their first child, a son named Noah. But as it turns out, the proud new parents weren't the only ones looking forward to their baby's happy arrival!
“Astro is a sweet boy and very loving,” Corey said. “During pregnancy, he was always by Elsa’s side and was ready to protect her belly when someone approached her. He never left her side. Sometimes he would put his head and paw on his stomach and just lie there.”
The pair weren't sure how much Astro really understood what was going on. And the family didn't exactly know how the dog would react when Noah was finally born.
And then it happened.
When Noah first arrived at his home, Astro just looked at him, puzzled.
“Astro sniffed Noah and then ran to his mom,” Corey said. “He sniffed and then seemed embarrassed. He returned to Noah and sniffed him again. Then he kind of looked at us like, “Oh, okay. That's what was in mom's belly, right? Now he will be safe..."
The dog didn't say it out loud, but he probably meant it.
After several years of searching for his place between Cory and Elsa, the dog finally found it, and it ended up next to little Noah’s bed. Since then, it is the dog that takes over every night and guards the baby’s fragile sleep, which parents are more and more surprised at every time.
“It's amazing to see Astro give up his spot even at night because he always used to sleep with us,” Corey said. “When Astro sat and looked at Noah, and then lay down at his feet and closed his eyes, we both realized what was going on in his head.”
Now the newborn Noah is constantly under unnoticed, but very vigilant supervision.
“If we get up at night, Astro will get up too. When we change diapers, Astro just sits at our feet, looking up to make sure we're doing it right,” Corey says with a laugh. “When we feed Noah on the couch, Astro jumps in and lies next to Noah’s head while he eats.”
“I think he'll be a great brother. “Astro is very patient and gentle,” Dad said. – As for their relationship, it is clear that they are becoming stronger and stronger as Noah grows up and begins to understand many things. He will love his big brother!”
Now parents are not at all afraid of difficulties, because they understand what a wonderful friend and reliable protector their beloved son has become!
