The man saw a fluffy ball on the road. He came closer and was shocked!

On May 21, a resident of Bangor, Maine (USA), Andrew Day, went to visit his parents. Sitting at their house, he looked out the window and saw some strange movement in the grass on the street. It looked like a fur ball and the man at first thought it was a cat attacking a squirrel.

Worried that the animal might be in danger, he ran outside and approached the "fur ball." To his surprise, they turned out to be four young squirrels, whose tails were tangled and connected to each other. And there really was a neighbor’s cat sitting nearby and the baby squirrels were in great danger, and besides, because of their tails, they were very easy prey.

Andrew took out his phone and filmed the baby squirrels, and then he and his father began trying to call local animal control. But it was Sunday and the office was closed, no one answered them. Andrew then called the police and they advised him to contact the caretaker who is responsible for this site.

Meanwhile, all four of the squirrels tried to climb the nearest tree and they did not succeed. And apparently their mother was sitting at the top of the tree, there was another squirrel and she was making loud noises. According to Andrew, because the cat was nearby, she began to scream even louder, worried about her cubs.

Andrew and his father decided that they would have to save the squirrels themselves. They caught the baby squirrels and placed them in a cardboard box. According to Andrew, the baby squirrels looked thin and very scared.

Then the man put on thick gloves and began to examine their tails. “It looked like a big matted clump of fur.” There were twigs and straw and some other nest debris and even pieces of plastic, all wrapped tightly around the fur of the tails.

“I took scissors and began to carefully trim the hairs on the tails. The whole procedure lasted probably an hour and a half. When I finished they were fine."

Then the baby squirrels were given a little time to come to their senses, locked in a box, and then released near the tree where their mother was sitting. According to Andrew, all the baby squirrels immediately ran up the tree trunk.

By the way, this is not the first such case. In 2013, SIX malnourished squirrels were brought to one of the clinics, whose tails were also tangled. Experienced doctors managed to cope with this difficult task and all 6 squirrels were also saved:
