Kitten Rescued from Hurricane Matthew Receives a Tiny Sock Sweater and Finds Its New Home (5 Photos)
When a family came to the PetSmart shelter in Raleigh, North Carolina (USA) to choose a kitten, they met a baby who was in great need of tenderness and warmth.
The father and children were just inspecting the animal cages to choose something for themselves when the veterinarian approached them and said that they had a kitten that really needed a home.
“It turns out that he and his wife have a dog, but they’ve never had a cat,” said Sarah, one of the shelter’s clients. While waiting for the kitten, the man asked Sarah a few questions, he asked about how to take care of kittens, since he has no experience in raising them.
After some time, a veterinarian's assistant appeared and brought a small striped miracle, which was wrapped in a sock (it kept the kitten warm), and the family immediately fell in love with the baby.
It is known that the kitten was admitted to the institution just the other day. “The veterinarian's assistant said she was approximately 3-4 weeks old,” Sarah said.
“When I first saw her, I could barely resist the temptation to take her home,” says Sarah. “This kitten was so soft and precious that this guy’s kids really got excited about her.”
Then the man consulted with his wife, and after some time they went to buy the essentials for the baby.
“I was so happy to watch all this that I couldn’t restrain myself and went with them,” Sarah shares her impressions. “They bought a huge, fancy litter box for the cat, and everyone was incredibly excited, and I think the kitten in the sock was in really good hands.”
