Rare color photographs of the early 20th century (70 photos)
The most interesting color photographs of the early 20th century, namely those taken in 1911. Many of these pre-revolutionary color photographs lay in archives for many years. All these photographs were taken using the unique method of the talented chemist Prokudin-Gorsky, who invented the color rendering method for such amazing slides. To achieve the effect of full color, he took the same photo three times, passing it through red, green and blue color filters. To reproduce a color picture on a projector, he inserted three identical photographs into the projector at once, taken in different color filters, which gave the effect of full color to such photographs. It’s hard to believe that many of these color photographs were taken 100 years ago, because even 30-40 years ago, color photographs were quite rare. Be sure to look further.
