Nissan has begun exporting the Frontier Pro pickup truck, which was developed and built in China. Mexico will be its first overseas market, with sales kicking off in October. In other markets, the model will be sold under the Navara Pro nameplate.
The vehicle was created by the Zhengzhou Nissan joint venture. According to the company, this is the first Nissan designed and produced in China specifically for global export. The cabin seats five.
Powertrains will vary by region. Plug-in hybrid variants have been prepared for Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Oceania, while the Middle East will receive gas-powered versions. The hybrid pickup features V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability, allowing external equipment to be powered directly from the traction battery.
The new truck is slated to hit the Philippines in November, followed by the Middle East and other Latin American markets by the end of the year. Right-hand-drive versions destined for Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to arrive in 2027.
