Extended luxury, Chinese style: why the exclusive BMW X5 is superior to the larger X7 (6 photos)

The Bavarian concern has created a unique version of the BMW X5 crossover for the Chinese market, which is radically different from the usual global versions. The car's wheelbase has been increased by 13 centimeters, making the overall length of the Chinese X5 6 centimeters longer than that of the European flagship X7 crossover. Externally, the model can be recognized by the absence of the characteristic X-shaped elements in the headlight design, but its most significant changes are hidden inside. Rear passengers are provided with luxurious ottomans and a huge fold-out 31-inch screen with 8K resolution, carried over directly from the 7 Series. Furthermore, the crossover is equipped with a more advanced self-driving system, developed by the Bavarians in partnership with the local technology company Momenta. Such attention to detail and adaptation to the needs of local customers is understandable, as until recently, the Chinese market accounted for a third of the brand's global sales, twice as much as the US.
