Schizophrenia Treatment

However, doctors in Japan have achieved something amazing – curing schizophrenia with a bone marrow transplant. It happened, one might say, by chance: they diagnosed a patient with schizophrenia with blood cancer and, to save his life, decided to administer chemotherapy and then perform a bone marrow transplant. This way, they first weakened his immune system and then initiated a "reboot."

Amazingly, after the transplant, all symptoms of the young man's mental disorder disappeared! This case led scientists to believe that schizophrenia and similar disorders may be caused by malfunctioning immune systems. Experts are now conducting extensive research in this area, hoping to confirm this connection.

Growing Teeth





Many people didn't know this, but scientists have long since learned to grow teeth from human stem cells. This is done in several ways. First, biological material (a tooth bud) is removed from a donor, from which a full-fledged tooth is grown in the laboratory, which is then installed in the patient. Second, the cells are "implanted" directly into the gum, where the growth process begins.

Both of these methods have been repeatedly tested on rodents and have shown positive results. Scientists plan to begin human trials of this new technology soon. "If your pet has died, wrap it in damp towels and place it in the refrigerator (not the freezer). This will preserve the cells needed for cloning. You have five days, after which the cells will become unusable."

After this, they will be unable to harm teeth in any way, as they will be destroyed by the teeth's "defense system."

Growing Cotton on the Moon



Until recently, scientists were convinced that life on the Moon was impossible, as the climate there would not allow any living organism to survive for long. But recent research has proven otherwise!

New Killer Whale Species

They differ from previously known species in their smaller body size, sharp fins, and rounded heads.

Rapid skin growth at the burn site



In 2011, researchers at Johns Hopkins University developed a unique hydrogel. It allows the growth of new skin at the burn site to occur several times faster. This is because its main component, the polymer dextran, effectively stimulates growth at the site of injury.

The composition is supplemented with the victim's own cells, so new skin, not scar tissue, grows at the burn site. The entire process takes only a few weeks. While this drug has only been tested on mice so far, it could soon be available to all patients.
