American nutritionists claim to have developed a diet that allows people to lose weight effortlessly—specifically, while they sleep. The best part is that people who follow this program will lose fat, not muscle, which is very difficult to achieve even with standard diets.

Is it possible to effectively lose weight while you sleep? American nutritionists say yes! And the unique "Overnight Diet" will help! Its goal is to maximize fat loss while preserving muscle mass.



The nutrition program was developed by Caroline Apovian, a dietitian and director of the Nutrition and Weight Management Division at Boston Medical Center. She has been working on the diet for nearly 20 years and has successfully implemented it in practice many times.

"This special eating regimen helps lower insulin levels at night and switch the body into fat-burning mode," says Dr. Apovian.





We all know that when resources are limited, the body first draws energy from muscle. But then, when a person gains weight again, they gain it back as fat. This is why strict diets and even fasting don't have the desired effect. To lose weight "properly," you need to lower insulin levels and switch your body to fat-burning mode.



According to Dr. Apovian, this can be achieved by giving up solid food for one day a week. Instead of your usual meals, consume nutritious smoothies made from yogurt, fruits, vegetables, and protein powder. This mixture can lower insulin levels and trigger increased production of growth hormone, which helps normalize metabolism.



Of course, this doesn't mean you can spend the remaining six days eating burgers and washing them down with cola (although you can lose weight that way, but you're unlikely to be happy with the results). The nutritionist recommends following a fat-burning diet and eating more protein: meat, fish, eggs, and soy products.



The main difference between this diet and the popular low-carb diet is that the Overnight Diet allows for regular foods: whole grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and so on.

By normalizing metabolic processes, weight loss will, so to speak, occur while you sleep. This is a very attractive prospect, you'll agree. But the main advantage of the "overnight diet," of course, is that you'll lose fat, not muscle. Muscles, on the other hand, will be constantly nourished by healthy shakes once a week and healthy foods on the other days.
