The Euclid telescope has captured the most detailed and expansive image of the Milky Way (4 photos + video)
The impressive image, which took 26 hours to create, includes over 60 million stars and 51 planetary systems. The image consists of nine stitched together sections, each larger in area than the visible side of the Moon.
The Euclid Observatory was launched by the European Space Agency in 2023 to study the nature of dark matter. The telescope is located approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. The data obtained is expected to aid scientists in the search for new exoplanets and the further study of galaxies.
