A bronze chariot was found at the Casas del Turuñuelo sanctuary, one of the main monuments of the Tartessian civilization. The chariot was likely used in rituals. Nearby were bronze braziers, a cauldron, and parts of a foot-washing vessel.

The front is adorned with the river god Achelous with his tongue hanging out—an iconography previously unheard of. Griffins flank the chariot, while Atlanteans hold the composition from below, and ancient Egyptian motifs are evident in the design. The closest known analogues are found only among the Etruscans in Italy, indicating extensive contacts across the Mediterranean in the 5th century BC.
