A Chinese woman, after undergoing a cosmetic procedure, was unable to close her eyes completely, even while sleeping.
In June 2020, a Chinese woman underwent blepharoplasty, a popular procedure in Asia. She chose the Meixi Plastic Surgery Clinic in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
Blepharoplasty is a popular cosmetic procedure that creates a double fold in the eyelid. It is widely popular among young women in Asia. After this procedure, the woman in this article has been unable to close her eyes completely for six years.
A special examination officially recognized her injury as a grade 9 disability in 2022. According to the relevant classification in China, grade 10 is the most severe.
But despite the disability and serious health consequences, a court in China ordered her to pay a substantial sum to the doctor who performed the procedure.
All attempts to overturn the decision through the higher prosecutor's office were unsuccessful. Her appeal was rejected. She must pay compensation to the man she previously accused of performing an illegal operation and causing harm to his health.
It is also known that she paid 12,000 yuan, or about $1,800, for the procedure. It was performed by a surgeon named Meng. ![]()
