Demonstration performances by law enforcement agencies are always an opportunity to demonstrate impeccable training, nerves of steel, and absolute control of the situation. The Chilean Navy decided to stage just such a pompous event to report to the press on its successes in the fight against smuggling.
The star performers of the program were supposed to be sniffer dogs, trained to expertly detect prohibited substances by scent in any conditions. The four-legged bloodhounds truly performed 100%, but the show didn't go exactly as the organizers had planned. 
In the midst of the official part, when high-ranking Chilean Navy Admiral Arturo Oxley took the podium to deliver a formidable report on the victory over drug trafficking, the dogs suddenly lost interest in their training bags.
One of the dogs confidently approached the speaking officer and, ignoring his high status, firmly sank its nose into the pocket of his dress uniform jacket. The admiral's colleagues attempted to carefully lead the animal away: their sense of smell was unfailing, and the most interesting "cargo" on this platform was right there in the stands.
A deathly silence reigned, broken only by the clicking of camera shutters from stunned journalists. Later, the agency had to officially explain that the admiral had just been playing with another service dog and had left its scent on his uniform, but the public's trust was irrevocably damaged. A video of the embarrassing incident instantly went viral on social media, turning the rigorous anti-drug event into the biggest meme of the year.
And so, the Chilean dogs turned out to be the agency's most honest employees, who follow the scent regardless of rank, stars, or stripes.
