The long-running project by tuner Gas Monkey, which was already making headlines in 2024, is finally complete and will soon be delivered to a new owner. This is a unique Ferrari Testarossa, produced by the Italian automaker between 1984 and 1996. The asking price is $1.5 million.
In the hands of the studio's masters, the supercar has undergone radical changes, the most noticeable of which is the addition of an extra rear axle. Yes, the Testarossa is now a six-wheel drive car. And all four wheels are driven. It's worth noting that the tuners' original idea was even more outlandish: they wanted to make the two-door, dubbed the F6, all-wheel drive.
Other modifications include a slightly different body kit, static LED modules in place of pop-up headlights, a massive rear wing, and exhaust pipes routed between the headlights.
Another significant surprise lies under the hood. While the original Testarossa is powered by a Tipo F113 4.9-liter flat-12 engine, the F6 receives a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 from a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C7). The tuner isn't revealing engine output, but the standard engine produces 650 hp and 881 Nm.
The supercar's interior is minimalist: carbon fiber bucket seats, a Momo steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster in place of the analog instrument cluster, a compact media system screen in the center, a pair of buttons next to the massive manual transmission lever on the center tunnel, and an abundance of Alcantara on all panels.
The tuners are asking $1.5 million for this unusual Testarossa variant.
