Less than 1% of the world's population regularly uses advanced AI
Despite the global excitement surrounding artificial intelligence, the actual penetration of AI services remains quite modest. According to published data, approximately 78% of the world's population has never used neural networks or chatbots, and most of those familiar with the technology limit themselves to free versions of services. Statistics indicate that approximately 21.1% of users at least occasionally access free AI chatbots, while only about 0.72% have subscribed to paid services. An even smaller share uses specialized programming and coding tools—approximately 0.12% of the population. The study's authors note that the media buzz surrounding AI creates a perception of the technology's widespread adoption, although in reality, the active audience remains relatively small. Experts also believe that the market is still in its infancy, and the widespread adoption of neural networks in everyday life is only just beginning. ![]()
