A swimmer won a "doping race" and was the only one without performance-enhancing drugs
A doping-free swimmer won the "Steroid Olympics." Hunter Armstrong won the 50-meter backstroke.
The "Enhanced Games" kicked off today in Las Vegas. These are competitions where there are no doping tests, and participants are allowed to use substances typically banned in sports. These substances must be prescribed by a doctor and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Such substances include synthetic testosterone, growth hormone, and certain types of anabolic steroids. The total prize fund for the championship in each discipline is $500,000, half of which goes to the winner.
The athlete also achieved a result close to the world record, missing out by less than a second, after which he continued preparing for his next competitions.
