Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii is in its 44th phase of eruption, and the alert level has been raised to a warning. Volcanic debris and tephra are ejected from the crater, falling over considerable distances, in places reaching the size of large objects.
Fallout volcanic glass (Pele's hair), which is hazardous to skin and eyes, has also been recorded. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is closed, some roads are blocked, and residents in nearby areas are advised to stay indoors due to the risk of falling debris and ash.
