A "lavonado" was filmed in Hawaii

During the eruption of the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii, a rare phenomenon called "lavonado" was captured on camera. An air vortex "spins" lava right in the mouth of the volcano.

This happens because the heated air becomes less dense and begins to rise, and the colder air descends, taking its place - under certain conditions, their flows can swirl in the process.
