The Earth is spinning: A stunning timelapse of the starry sky over a river
The author of this video left his camera on the riverbank overnight to capture the Earth's rotation relative to the stars. The result is an incredibly beautiful timelapse, where the sky appears motionless, and the planet's surface and water gently recede from beneath our feet. The footage makes us vividly realize that we are on a vast cosmic object constantly hurtling through space.
