A new brand, Freelander, has emerged on the automotive scene as part of a joint venture between Jaguar Land Rover and Chery to produce electric vehicles. A concept car, the Freelander Concept 97, was unveiled in Shanghai, and the production version is expected to be unveiled later this year. Six models are planned to be added to the brand's lineup by 2030, the first of which will feature Huawei's advanced intelligent driving system. The project is being managed by a separate team, independent of the parent companies, underscoring the ambitions of the new player in the market.
