The Chinese have created refrigerator magnets that users can upload any photos from their smartphone to. The frames have a built-in e-ink display (like those found in e-readers), and images are transferred via NFC.
The frames operate without batteries. Energy for refreshing the wallpaper is reportedly transferred along with it when touched. The magnets cost $36 each.
