The exact form and timing of the Chinese brand's entry into the world's most technologically advanced motorsports championship remains unknown at this time. However, there are two main options. The first is to create a new team from scratch, following the example of the Cadillac Formula 1 Team, which debuted in the 2026 season, which would require significant investment in car development. The second is to purchase one of the existing teams and subsequently rebrand it. Alpine is mentioned as one of the candidates in the publication.
It is clarified that the automaker's management is looking beyond Formula 1. They are also considering participation in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), a marathon race where both heavily modified production cars and sports prototypes compete.
