Lexus unveiled the reborn LFA supercar (10 photos)

Lexus unveiled the LFA concept—a design for a flagship coupe based on the Toyota GR GT platform. However, the LFA isn't actually a new model: it has previously been shown under the name Lexus Sport.





The concept's exterior echoes the original LFA in a number of details, including not only the silhouette but also, for example, the distinctive side air intakes behind the cabin pod and the hood scoops. There are also some similarities in the futuristic interior—for example, the sloping center console separating the driver from the passenger.

The new concept's reveal, in addition to its name, included the unveiling of several other details. For example, it was revealed that the LFA shares both its platform and aluminum body structure with the Toyota GR GT and has a similar wheelbase—2,725 millimeters. At the same time, the prototype is billed as a fully electric vehicle and represents an exploration of the sporty side of a battery-powered future.

No technical specifications for the Lexus LFA, other than its dimensions, have yet been released.
