Lexus unexpectedly showed two supercars at once (10 photos)
The Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK was marked by an unexpected premiere: the Toyota concern brought two Lexus supercars to the prestigious event, which were previously known only thanks to spy photos. According to one version, the cars are the same model, but in different versions: for the race track and public roads.
The exterior design of the cars is made with a clear look at the appearance of the Toyota GR GT3 concept, shown back in early 2022. Both cars have a very low line of a long hood and a wide body, but the racing modification has more aggressive aerodynamics: a large splitter, air intakes on the hood and wheel arches and a huge wing. You can also see 20-inch wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes.
Presumably, the new product will become the ideological successor of either the Lexus LFA, with which it echoes the shape of the rear air ducts, or the RC F coupe. The American press, based on patent applications published relatively recently, suggests that the supercar will receive the designation LFR. According to preliminary data, a hybrid system based on a V8 is being prepared for it, which itself will be able to develop up to 700 horsepower, and an electric superstructure will increase the output to 900 hp. The sound of the supercars' power plant on the video recordings of their passage in Goodwood indirectly confirms this hypothesis.
Toyota is planning to take part in the European GT3 series as early as 2026. Accordingly, it is possible that the official premiere of the supercars will take place in the coming months.
