A powerful mud volcano eruption occurred in the Antioquia department of Colombia. Local residents captured images of a giant pillar of fire.
The eruption occurred in the municipality of San Juan de Urabá, near the village of Siete Vueltas. A wastewater treatment plant and nearby homes were at risk. Authorities have launched an emergency evacuation, BNO News reports. There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities.
Eyewitnesses on social media reported fissures in the ground and cracked asphalt several kilometers from the eruption site.
