The first still from the God of War series was released online – fans are unhappy with Kratos (4 photos)

Today, riding the wave of successful game adaptations (The Last of Us, Fallout), Amazon Prime Video has taken on a new project. The streaming service has taken a swipe at something sacred—the God of War franchise, considered one of the most iconic series in gaming history. Surprisingly, there were no complaints about the casting! But... after seeing them in the first frame, people quickly became disillusioned.

Amazon's God of War series will be based on the 2018 God of War. The game tells the story of how, after the death of his wife, Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to scatter her ashes from the top of the highest mountain.





As a reminder, the role of the Spartan Kratos in the upcoming Amazon show has been cast by God of War Ragnarok star Ryan Hurst, while Atreus will be played by up-and-coming actor Callum Vinson. It was later announced that Teresa Palmer, Max Parker, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Mandy Patinkin, Alastair Duncan, Danny Woodburn, and Jeff Gulka have been cast as Sif, Heimdall, Thor, Odin, Mimir, Brok, and Sindri, respectively.



It would seem there's no reason to complain! But recently, a debut image surfaced online, showing Kratos and Atreus hunting. The boy prepares to shoot a bow, while his father watches.

"Father and son. Get your first look at Kratos and Atreus in the God of War series, now in production. Their journey to the top of the highest mountain begins," the show's creators announced.





God of War fans didn't appreciate the first frame, despite the authenticity of the images. According to users, the characters look more like cosplayers. "It looks like a cheap parody from YouTube," fans wrote.
