A farmer in China attempted to transport pigs from a village using a drone. During the transport, the pig's tether caught on a high-voltage power line, leaving the entire village without power for approximately ten hours.
A farmer from Tongjiang County in Sichuan Province attempted to transport pigs from a mountain farm to a slaughterhouse using a drone, but the experiment ended in an accident and a ten-hour power outage for the entire village. During the flight, the rope carrying the pig caught on a high-voltage power line.
The man explained that he lives in a remote mountainous area where transporting livestock by road is difficult. He attributed the error to darkness and poor visibility.
Twelve workers from the local power grid company were needed to restore the line, and the repairs cost approximately 10,000 yuan.
Police launched an investigation and stated that the farmer may have violated regulations by operating a drone in a restricted area and overloading the device. He likely faces administrative penalties and compensation for damages.
