A Chinese man trashed his apartment after his wife bought a dishwasher without his consent
A woman from Guangdong Province said she ordered a 1,500 yuan appliance because she had trouble washing dishes in cold water in the winter. Her husband, who doesn't wash dishes himself, only learned of the purchase upon installation and demanded the immediate return of the appliance, citing high utility bills.
When his wife refused to cancel the order, the man flew into a rage, smashing furniture and other items in the living room. The woman left the house in tears and spent the night at a hotel, eventually returning the dishwasher the next day.
The husband later apologized, blaming his outburst on stress and debt, and suggested buying a smaller model. The story sparked a heated online debate: some condemned the violence and advised the woman to divorce, while others attributed the conflict to a lack of understanding within the family.
Who is right, who is wrong?
