Live Photos of the New Battery-Powered Volkswagen for China Have Emerge (6 photos)
Volkswagen's latest electric car for the Chinese market is getting closer to its premiere. This is confirmed by live spy photos of the new model, most likely taken at a closed presentation. The sedan will be called the ID.Unyx 07 and is expected to be the first production VW on the new platform. 
Judging by the photos, the car will generally retain the current design style of the Chinese branch of the Volkswagen ID family and will essentially be a four-door version of the ID.Unyx 06 exterior. The ID.Unyx 06 will have visual differences. The Unyx 07 will feature unique bumpers that look slightly more aggressive, black inserts around the body, and unique wheels up to 20 inches in size. Images of the interior are still unavailable, but it is expected to be fully or partially borrowed from the ID. Unyx 06.
The dimensions of the Volkswagen ID. Unyx 07 are 4853 x 1852 x 1566 mm with a wheelbase of 2826 mm, making it comparable in size to the current Toyota Camry. The sedan is certified with a single motor producing 231 hp, which will be paired with a 59.9 kWh battery. The front-wheel-drive 07 will have a range of 558 kilometers (348 miles) on a single charge.
It's known that the partners spent only a year and a half developing the new model, but the specifics of the CEA (China Electrical Architecture) platform have not yet been specified. Volkswagen Anhui has serious plans for this architecture: by 2027, it is expected to become the basis for two dozen electrified models.
