Toyota Updated the Luxury Century Sedan for the First Time Since 2018 (5 photos)
Toyota has introduced a modernized version of the Century sedan to the domestic market. Its current generation was released in 2018 and underwent its first facelift. This change didn't affect the model's conservative appearance or technical specifications, but the Century has become safer and smarter. However, the four-door model has become significantly more expensive.
The Toyota Century has been updated with the latest version of the Safety Sense driver assistance system. The sedan now more accurately recognizes pedestrians and cyclists, including at intersections, and the Proactive Driving Assist feature allows the sedan to control its speed when approaching vehicles ahead or steer when obstacles suddenly appear.
The main interior change is the 8-inch display on the center console, which has become standard with the update.
The Toyota Century continues to be equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 producing 381 hp and an electric motor producing 224 hp. However, after the update, the sedan's starting price was 23 million yen, meaning the Century has increased in price by almost 3 million yen.
