45-year-old Macaulay Culkin hasn't ruled out returning to the role of Kevin McCallister in a possible sequel to the Home Alone film franchise. The actor shared an idea for the plot of a possible sequel.
Macaulay Culkin has an idea for a Home Alone sequel featuring an adult Kevin.
At a fan meeting, the actor revealed that he's "not entirely opposed" to possibly returning to the role of Kevin McCallister. For Macaulay, the most important thing is a unique and powerful script, and Culkin even has an idea for what the plot might look like:
"Imagine: Kevin is either a widower or divorced, raising his son alone. He works hard to provide for them, and therefore often forgets to spend time with the child. Around Christmas, the son becomes deeply resentful of his father and locks himself in the house, not letting Kevin in. And now McCallister's son is the one setting the traps, and Kevin is the one falling into them."
Macaulay believes that in this context, the house would become "a kind of metaphor for the father-son relationship": Kevin needs to return not only to the house, but also to the child's heart. ![]()
