A man was skating on a frozen lake in Canada when he suddenly spotted a family of deer. The exhausted animals lay on the ice. Their hooves are not adapted to such slippery surfaces, and all their attempts to cross the lake were unsuccessful.
The skater didn't abandon the deer. Using a rope, he towed the ungulates to the nearest shore. The unfortunate animals had to be literally pushed to shore; otherwise, the exhausted deer would have been unable to escape the ice.
