A homeowner found a baby lynx on his doorstep, which he initially mistook for a kitten.
"This sweet little one showed up this morning and was surprisingly calm. He let me sit next to him and pet him," the man said.
At first, he didn't suspect anything strange and thought he had an abandoned kitten on his doorstep. The animal was calm, but at one point, it rolled over and even began purring, happy to be petted.
Suddenly, the man realized it wasn't a kitten at all, but a lynx cub. This was indicated by the animal's distinctive appearance, particularly its pointed ears.
After this, the homeowner became confused. He didn't know what to do with the animal next, as he felt the tiny lynx cub had shown affection for him. Moreover, there were no parents, family members, or other members of the cub's pack nearby.
"Did this animal just become attached to me? I know they're impossible to fully tame, but they're acting really cute," he asked users, wondering what he should do next.
The footage quickly gained popularity on social media and, in just a few days, had received over 103,000 likes and several thousand comments.
One user joked that the man had stumbled upon a "forbidden kitten."
"What a cute, killer kitty," wrote another commenter.
Eventually, as the homeowner responded in the comments, he contacted a wildlife rescue service, who were supposed to come and pick up the kitten.
