Approaching serial production

The Lexus LFR is gradually approaching serial production, and photographers were able to photograph a new prototype with an almost finished interior. Despite the masking film, the pictures allow you to see the elegant and minimalist interior of the car.

The driver sits behind the steering wheel with a flat bottom, which is equipped with steering wheel paddles and metal inserts. The latter have the letter “L”, which probably indicates belonging to the Lexus brand. Also visible on the steering wheel are hexagonal control levers and a special sensor for the driver's condition monitoring system.

Central part of the cabin

The real star of the interior is the multimedia system, which seems to be running on an updated version of the Lexus Interface. The system has familiar shortcuts on the left and a climate control display at the bottom. Below the display is a series of physical buttons, including temperature controls for the driver and passenger, as well as a volume control.

The center console is decorated with a stylized body with metal ribs and embossed black panels. Upon closer inspection, you can see horizontal air ducts that look out from under the control panel.



Center console details

The center console is covered in black fabric, but has a special ramp-shaped design. In front is a minimalist gear selector with a separate parking button. Behind the selector are two additional buttons, the purpose of which is still difficult to determine.

Of particular note are the red Recaro seats, which seem to have a carbon base. They resemble the seats presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but in this case are upholstered in Alcantara or microfiber instead of leather.



Additional features

Also notable are the ergonomic door handles and vertical air ducts along the edges of the dashboard. The prototype has an unusual cup holder that seems to extend into the passenger space, but we hope that this detail will not be transferred to the production version.

Lexus is not yet revealing details about the LFR, but photographers recently captured prototypes with three different aerodynamic configurations. One of them is likely standard, while the others have track packages of varying degrees of extremeness.

Powertrain

Details about the powertrain remain unknown, but there are rumors that the car will receive a hybrid version with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. According to some reports, the total power may reach about 900 hp, but this information needs to be confirmed.

The latest prototype testing indicates that the active phase of preparation for serial production is underway. Various aerodynamic configurations may indicate the presence of several versions of the model, which is typical of modern sports cars. The use of carbon Recaro seats and minimalist interior design emphasizes the focus on the driving experience and high dynamic qualities. The hybrid powertrain, if the rumors are confirmed, combines traditional V8 power with modern environmental trends.
