After a neural network-generated video of a robotic horse went viral on social media, dozens of scam sites emerged, soliciting money from users to purchase a non-existent robotic gadget.
Despite the fact that most of the scam sites didn't even bother to remove the label of the AI studio that created the video, hundreds of people have already fallen for the scam. According to various estimates, gullible buyers have been defrauded of between $4 and $15 million.
