Czech police have caught the "Ghost Rider" — for six years, cops hunted for a mysterious Ferrari that appeared on roads across the country, but always eluded pursuit.
The man received five stars: elite units, covered by a helicopter, were sent to arrest him. All for the sake of revoking the speed enthusiast's license.
The driver was caught rather stupidly: for the first time since 2019, he broke his disguise and drove his speed capsule to refuel. A vigilant gas station attendant called the cops, and they tracked the car to the elusive driver's home.
The "Formula 1 Ferrari" turned out to be a Dallara GP2/08—a Formula 1 preparatory series race car. The police really had no chance of catching him on the road—the Dallara accelerates to 200 km/h in 7 (!) seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h.
The funniest thing: the guy will most likely go unpunished. According to Czech law, owning a speed capsule is not prohibited, but to prove guilt, the driver must be stopped at the scene of the crime and their helmet must be removed to confirm their identity.
