One of the 129 existing Ferrari Monza SP1 will be exhibited at auction (40 photos)
At the end of March, a very rare Ferrari Monza SP1 supercar will be put up for auction, one of the distinctive features of which is a single-seater cockpit. In total, Ferrari produced only 129 of these cars. The auction does not publish price expectations, but the supercar can cost millions of dollars not only due to its rarity, but also due to the almost non-existent mileage - only 140 kilometers.
Ferrari developed the Monza model based on the 812 Superfast supercar as a tribute to the racing barchettas of the 1950s. The supercar with a starting price of $3 million was offered to only the most loyal customers, who had the opportunity to choose between a single and two-seater interior. The total circulation of the Monza was 499 cars, but most buyers preferred the version with a passenger seat.
Ferrari equipped the Monza with a 6.5-liter V12 with 810 hp combined with a robotic gearbox. The speedster can accelerate to 100 km/ h in less than three seconds with a top speed of 300 km/ h.
The copy put up for sale was assembled in 2020. It was practically not used and was stored in a climate-controlled room under a special cover. At the same time, the supercar regularly underwent maintenance - the last time this happened in December last year. The car comes with all the memorabilia that the owner-collector received upon purchase, including a racing helmet, overalls and gloves, a set of luggage items and three different covers.
