This mysterious bridge is a special place. Local children leave gifts and messages here for the fairies who inhabit the island.

The Isle of Man is well acquainted with the legend of the Fairy Bridge. According to local belief, anyone crossing the bridge without joyfully greeting its mysterious inhabitants with the cry "Hello, fairies!" risks trouble.

A curse can manifest itself in a series of minor misfortunes, a sudden car breakdown, or even more sinister tricks of the invisible people.

Reverence for fairies is so serious here that it is even taken into account in infrastructure planning. Legend has it that the A5 highway was deliberately curved to avoid the ancient hill, otherwise accidents and road accidents would have been common.

Even local buses play a prerecorded warning when approaching the famous site.

However, few people know that this popular spot is not the original Magic Bridge. And even fewer know the location of the real old bridge, shrouded in even greater mysteries.

The key to the secret place is held by those whose hearts are pure and open to miracles—the students of the local elementary school. Children who believe in magic visit the Magic Bridge to leave small offerings: coins, sparkling glass, shells, or handmade crafts to gain the fairies' favor. Some write detailed letters asking for good luck on exams, health for loved ones, or a new phone.

Fairies are believed to be particularly favorably disposed toward sincerity and respect. Children leave these gifts on the crumbling masonry of the bridge, from where they mysteriously disappear, as if carried away by an unknown force.

No one sees who exactly takes them. Perhaps it's the fairies themselves, or perhaps an adult who carefully preserves the legend and maintains faith in miracles.

Anyone visiting this place should definitely bring a small gift—a shiny button or a beautiful stone. And politely say, "Hello, fairies!" After all, on the Isle of Man, rudeness to the fairies can cost far more than just a bad mood.
