Newlyweds lost a box of money at a wedding (6 photos + 1 video)
Armin Shirejini showed up at a wedding at the Renaissance Ballroom in Glendale, California, without an invitation. The stranger stayed there for at least an hour and a half and took a box of envelopes with him. The thief's loot was $60,000, a gift for family life.
The footage shows Armin walking around the guests, looking into the restroom, and then ordering a drink at the bar. After a while, he grabs a large chest from the main hall and disappears.
"The suspect, unknown to the victim, ran from the scene and got into a vehicle driven by an accomplice," the Glendale Police Department said.
Bride Nadine Farahat said, "When we found out what happened, the music stopped, the party was over. I was sitting on the dance floor crying with friends and family gathered around me."
Groom George Farahat said, "It looks like the thief even tipped the bartender."
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and identified the perpetrator. They arrested Shirejini at his home in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles. Andranik Avetisyan was detained along with him.
Police seized a significant amount of cash and dozens of checks in the newlyweds' names, and also found weapons and drugs on the suspects.
Police Sergeant Jose Barajas said, "Shiredjini definitely hit the jackpot. He got about $60,000 and some checks. We returned 26 checks and about $10,000 to the rightful owners. Glendale has a lot of banquet halls and there are weddings every week. We think this place may have been chosen at random."

George shared that he and his wife had a wonderful ceremony in the church. About 300 guests attended the event.
"We try to think about happy moments, appreciate important things and be glad that we are married," he said.
