There are no film adaptations of his books here.

American writer Stephen King suddenly shared his ten favorite films on his X profile. We quote: My 10 favorite films (except for Misery, Shawshank, The Green Mile, and Stand by Me). In no particular order. We list the films, accompanied by stills. There are only 20th century films here, but quite popular ones. And only ONE horror film.

The Sorcerer (1977)

Four criminals and exiles from different countries are forced to work together to transport a load of explosives through the deadly jungles of Latin America.

The Godfather Part II (1974)

The film simultaneously tells the story of the formation of young Vito Corleone and the struggle of his son Michael for power within the family and the mafia world.

Prison Break (1994)

A hardened convict tries to start a new life, but faces betrayal, violence, and the need to fight for freedom again.

Groundhog Day (1993)

A cynical TV host gets caught in a time loop, living the same day over and over until he changes himself.

Casablanca (1942)

A cafe owner in occupied Morocco is confronted by his former lover and the choice between personal happiness and the fight against the Nazis.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)

Three poor men set out to mine gold in Mexico, but greed and suspicion destroy their alliance. Two Humphrey Bogart movies in a row.

Jaws (1975)

A small coastal town is terrorized by a giant white shark, and three men set out to destroy it. The only horror movie on the list.

Mean Streets (1973)

A young New York mobster is torn between his duty to his family and his friendship with a reckless friend who is dragging him down. Here we have a young Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel fighting. This is obviously a Martin Scorsese movie.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)

After an encounter with a UFO, an ordinary man becomes obsessed with a mysterious vision that leads him to contact with aliens.

Double Indemnity (1944)

An insurance agent and a femme fatale hatch a plan to kill her husband for insurance money, but the deception turns into a deadly trap for both. Do you agree with the horror maestro?
