A car thief in the US calmly drove into a gas station and filled up with gas during a chase
Cops reported that despite being watched by a police helicopter, he was able to fill up the car without any problems.
According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the suspect was driving the stolen car at speeds of up to 100 mph. He was weaving between other cars and driving onto the shoulder. Police eventually gave up the pursuit.
A news helicopter was circling above the man as he pulled into the gas station. During the stop, the suspect was acting nervously, pacing around the car with his shirt pulled over his face. There were no police cars nearby. This allowed the perpetrator to fill up the tank in over a minute.
After the stop, the pursuit continued. Due to the dangerous driving, the police retreated, increasing the distance between themselves and the driver. The pursuit ended when the suspect disappeared under an overpass. His car crashed into a lamp post, and he disappeared from sight. Police believe the man was picked up by another driver or may have stolen another car.
