Karen Lisette, 22, went on a three-month trip to Thailand and Bali. In the second week of her holiday, the British woman attended a beach party in honor of the full moon. After a few drinks, the girl decided to "do something crazy" and asked her partner to film her jumping over a fire rope. 
Everything was going according to plan until Karen tried to escape from the ride. The flaming rope literally wrapped around her neck.
A London-based business developer admitted that she was “extremely grateful to fate” that the injury was not so serious. If the rope had hit her eyes or set her hair on fire, the consequences could have been catastrophic. 
The girl recalls: “I had a drink and thought: “Why not do something crazy?” I miscalculated and ran in the opposite direction with a rope around my neck.” At that moment, she felt a surge of adrenaline, began to laugh it off. She even drank a few shots to relieve the pain. 
Karen and her partner were at a party on the Thai island of Koh Phangan.
"Abed sat me down next to him to check if I was okay, that's when I felt the pain and started crying." 
The girl woke up in pain in the morning.
Karen said: “I woke up and couldn’t move my neck. I called my mom and told her what had happened. She was really worried. It was excruciating to take a shower and even let my hair down. But I continued to swim in the sea and take showers. The wounds crusted over, the scabs came off several times. In about two weeks everything healed.”
Luckily, there were no scars. The incident took place in June 2022, and only now Lisette can calmly watch the footage.
She added: "It was a real horror, but it didn't ruin the trip. The video accurately conveys my crazy character. A great example of how not to behave after a couple of drinks. I won't drink like that anymore! But I was young and did stupid things."
