William Sachiti, 41, has bought an abandoned Royal Air Force base in Britain and revived the radar station. He says he is creating a UFO-hunting network across the country.

The 41-year-old tech millionaire lives in a former nuclear bunker, where he has set up the headquarters of the Academy of Robotics. He has spent about $320,000 to repurpose the base.

Sachiti explained that the project has no commercial benefit: "There is no point in being the richest man in the cemetery, I just want to have fun and let people track UFOs."

The entrepreneur began working on the technology in 2017, when he founded a company to develop autonomous vehicles and robots. He subsequently purchased a site with a radar station and turned it into a robotics testing ground. In 2019, his company Kar-go created the UK’s first roadworthy autonomous car.

The most impressive feature of the complex is the huge Type 84 radar, which once tracked planes over the south of England. The system operated during the Cold War and was designed to provide early warning of a possible nuclear strike.

Because radar is too power-hungry, the entrepreneur uses a less powerful secondary surveillance radar (SSR). To process the data, he brought in an artificial intelligence called RadarBot, which he says has become "the best radar expert."

Sachiti has created software that allows anyone to join the system. According to him, a user can either use the Nitishead database or buy an antenna for $25 and independently monitor space within a radius of up to 240 kilometers. He claims that placing about 20-30 such antennas around the country allows you to monitor the skies above the UK.

The entrepreneur noted: "We basically ended up in the world's largest UFO database just for fun. It's a real UFO hunting machine, although it can be used for other things."

Sachiti is originally from Zimbabwe. His interest in space and aliens began in childhood after schoolchildren reported seeing UFOs near his school. He admits that this is when his fascination with aliens began.
