A Japanese teacher was fired for working part-time in a store (5 photos)

Teachers are the ones who are not allowed to do anything in this world. But the most cruel thing is that teachers are not allowed to do anything in Japan, where they are not allowed to earn extra money, even if they don't have enough money.

Many old people in Japan do the same jobs for less money that they did for their full salary before retirement. Japan's Harsh Economy

This month, a high school teacher in Okayama Prefecture was spotted doing something unforgivable in the eyes of school officials: working at a convenience store. On July 4, the Okayama City Board of Education received a report that a teacher at one of the city's high schools, a 60-year-old man, was working in a store in the neighboring city of Kurashiki (20 minutes from Okayama). The next day, the principal of the school where this man works personally visited the store and made sure that the teacher really worked there. He did this not during work hours, but on Saturday, his day off. And at the same time, the work of a salesperson in a store is considered respectable; here, in general, the status of the service sector is treated better than in many countries.

Many Japanese stores are open at night, so you can choose any hours you want to work part-time

But the problem is that he dared to work somewhere other than school. It turned out that he had been working part-time like this for two years. And he had managed to earn about .7 million yen. In Japan, employment contracts often prohibit part-time jobs. It's not just about non-competition, so that people don't work for competitors, but in general - any additional work. The logic is that the employer buys a normal, rested worker for working hours. And if you work on your day off, then this takes away your strength! It's probably okay to rest actively, getting very tired from digging potatoes, for example. Well, getting drunk to the point of squealing like a pig after work is normal, but working part-time is not normal.

I wrote about the phenomenon of old people who deliberately break the law to go to prison, where they will not starve and forever look for extra work

And secondly, it is shameful for the institution that they allegedly pay the employee so little that he has to work part-time. So be kind enough to survive on little money, but with dignity. In the case of the teacher, the director decided that a teacher working part-time would teach poorly. Or that parents would think so and start complaining. The teacher in the story himself admitted that he needed extra money due to his life circumstances. In the end, he officially apologized: "I deeply regret my actions." The man said that he plans to quit his job as a teacher because of the incident. Due to the consequences of the incident, he also stopped working at the store. And he worked because he did not have enough money!

If you do not have enough money as a teacher

But this is not the "funniest" part, the funniest part is the apology of the Okayama City Board of Education.

"We deeply apologize for the enormous suffering (!!!) and anxiety caused to the children, their guardians, and all the residents of the city. We will take measures to ensure that such an incident does not happen again, and will make efforts to restore trust in the education system."

It's hard to imagine how middle school students suffered morally from the fact that their teacher works in a shop in a neighboring town on Saturdays. It's more of a life lesson that you have to try if you find yourself in a difficult situation.

How can schoolchildren be hurt by a teacher's part-time job!? Insanity

The actions of the Japanese authorities cause nothing but unpleasant shock. In our country, they like to judge teachers for photos in a bathing suit, and in Japan, for trying to survive. And where is it more absurd?
