Two French HAMMER air bombs arrive at the location of occupation troops in northern Ukraine
A video has been published online showing a fragment of combat work by Ukrainian pilots. As reported by Censor.NET, the recording shows two high-precision aerial bombs hitting the occupiers' location.
"The Cossacks had a good time in the North, a strike by two AASM HAMMERs destroyed a "fat target". The under-officers of the occupation forces ignored safety and the first warning, so they had to be reminded again and sent to hell!" - the commentary to the video says.
AASM, A2SM or HAMMER is a family of French high-precision munitions developed by Safran Electronics & Defense. AASM is a kit that attaches to an unguided bomb and turns it into a guided one with a range of over 70 km. Modularity allows for the integration of various guidance units and various bombs.
The basic version consists of a nose module with a guidance system and a tail module with a fin and rocket booster, which equip a 250-kilogram bomb. The guidance system consists of an inertial system and GPS. Other versions may have infrared or laser guidance for increased accuracy. There are also versions with 125, 500 and 1000-kilogram warheads.
AASM entered service with the French Aerospace Forces and Navy in 2007, equipping the Dassault Rafale and Mirage 2000. Since March 2024, they have been actively used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to repel Russian aggression.
