An Irish Drug Dealer Sold Drugs to Another Defendant During His Trial (3 photos)
This story definitely deserves the title of "joke of the day"!
In the world of justice, sometimes there are stories that make you wonder: "Maybe this is a comedy after all?" This is exactly what happened in Dublin, where drug dealer Tony Rowe (30 years old) decided that the best way to spend time at his sentencing hearing was to do what he loved.
He was caught for another robbery attempt, and Tony once again appeared before the law. But since courts had long since become routine for him, he decided not to waste time and brought with him into the courtroom alprazolam tablets worth 160 euros and some cannabis.
Imagine: the judge reads out the verdict, and Tony, instead of listening, is actively engaged in trading. He passed the drugs to another defendant, who apparently also decided that the court is a great place to buy.
The tablets seized from Tony during sale in the courtroom.
When Judge Tresa Kelly heard about this “entrepreneurial” approach, she decided that the defendant had gone completely brazen and deserved special attention. She noted that he already had 124 convictions, including 29 convictions for drug trafficking.
Defense lawyer David Bassett tried to mitigate the sentence by arguing that his client had pleaded guilty straight away. But the judge was unstoppable. Tony Rowe was given a three-year prison sentence plus three months for entrepreneurial activity during the trial, which he said was "an unexpected gift."
