A tiny beagle saved a monk from a bear attack while jogging (3 photos + 1 video)
A man who, in addition to his temple services, is a professional trainer, encountered a bear that could easily tear him to pieces. However, a beagle that weighed 10 times less than the attacker came to the rescue, journalists reported. 
45-year-old Yoshihara regularly exercises, has developed muscles, and it surprises people who see the monk-athlete. To stay in shape, he jogs daily in the nearby forest. Once he had to survive a bear attack, as a result of which he injured his arm. 
The monk described his adventures on his Instagram page: as it turned out, at least two Japanese TV channels, Asahi Super J Channel and TBS The Time, filmed a story about the beagle's amazing heroism. Yoshihara told reporters how a 1.6 m tall bear rushed at him from the bushes. The man ran, backed away, but tripped over a branch and fell. The monk felt that he had injured his arm, and lay helpless in front of the wild animal, which was getting closer and closer. Suddenly, Chico rushed at the bear: the beagle barked so loudly that the attacker had to retreat, the article says.
The monk was afraid that the dog would die in the forest, so in panic and tears, despite the pain, he rushed after him into the thicket. So he wandered for several hours until his wife called and said that Chico had returned.
"Overwhelmed with emotion, Yoshihara burst into tears upon hearing the news. Meanwhile, Chico returned home with a face "full of pride," the media wrote.
As it turned out, Chico was adopted from a shelter. The previous owner abandoned the beagle, who barked too loudly. Now the monk calls the dog his savior and shares with subscribers TV stories that show the animal's heroism.
Under the message with the funny video, there are dozens of comments in which people are touched by the beagle's adventures. Some noted that they cried upon hearing the story. Others wrote that the breed in question is a type of hound that is often abandoned by its owners. Meanwhile, the monk occasionally posts videos with Chico. One of them shows a joint visit to the park Muramatsu and meeting deer.
The Beagle is a breed of dog that is usually up to 40 cm tall and weighs 10-14 kg. The dog was not afraid to rush at a Japanese black bear, 1.6 m tall (four times taller) and weighing up to 120 kg (that is, 8.5-10 times heavier).
