A two-meter alligator demonstrated a “deadly spin” to Florida police officers (8 photos + 1 video)
An alligator snuck into a private pool in Florida and was enjoying a swim when police and a professional trapper interrupted his fun. In footage released by the Martin County Sheriff's Office, the predator is performing a move usually reserved for killing prey. 
A tailed intruder has taken over a pool in a quiet Pinecrest Lakes neighborhood. Terrified residents called 911 to report an uninvited and very large guest basking in the sun. Deputy Dawn Ferris and Sergeant Crystal Nash were the first to arrive on the scene.
The alligator, like its owner, seemed completely unperturbed and did not pay attention to people. Everything changed with the appearance of professional catcher Matt Hines.
The man threw a trapping loop on the predator, and it began to wriggle and beat its tail on the water. The alligator first spun clockwise, and then abruptly changed direction, this technique is known as a "death spin". At some point, the animal was almost dragged to the edge of the pool, but it refused to give up.
"This was no easy task," the Martin County Sheriff's Office dryly noted on social media.
"Surprisingly, this is the second time in a day that an alligator has been found sunning itself in a community pool."
It took all of Hines' experience and determination to subdue the reptile. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the alligator was successfully removed from the area.
Authorities were quick to remind residents that alligators are in mating season. During this time, the usually calm reptiles become more aggressive and active, sometimes appearing in unexpected places.
“Residents and pet owners, please be vigilant,” the sheriff’s office warns. "Alligators are wild animals and can be extremely dangerous if provoked. As you can see from the powerful 'death spin', attempting to catch an alligator without proper training is very dangerous."
