A Florida resident discovered a 2.5-meter alligator in her kitchen (6 photos + 1 video)

An American woman was horrified when she saw an uninvited guest - a 2.5 m long alligator. Mary Hollenbeck photographed the giant beast in her home in Venice, Florida.





Hollenbeck said she was watching TV when she heard a knock on the door.

“I thought someone was at the wrong door. This happens a lot here. When I got up and went to the door, the alligator was already inside,” Mary explained.



"The alligator pressed on the door and the magnetic lock broke. The door opened and he crawled in."





"Oh my God, I have an alligator in my house. How do I get rid of it?" - thought the landlady.

The phone was too close to the predator, but the woman overcame her fear and dialed 911.

Soon, two Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies and three Florida Fish and Wildlife Service officers arrived on the scene.



"The deputy said he didn't believe me until he walked into the house and saw the alligator."

“These guys acted so calm and cool, like nothing bad had happened... just an alligator in the house... Real professionals,” the woman told Fox 13.

"I was in shock for a while. The neighbors immediately found out and discussed what happened, and now it's just a good story. In general, I got my 15 minutes of fame."



The Fish and Wildlife Service said the reptile was turned over to an alligator farm.

Now it's mating season for alligators, so the males are becoming more aggressive, and encountering these predators in the Sunshine State is not that uncommon.
